Well said! Only a humbling can cause us to see and repent. I am praying to see where we (Charismatics) have erred, how much we need to repent and what we can learn from other streams of Christianity. All of which require a humility which we seem to lack but god in his mercy has chosen to humble us anyway; which I think has been unfolding for a few years now.
This is more than beautiful, a huge part of why I am at this church. Thank you for your honestly and humility. Thank you for sharing such intimate parts of your walk.
I’ve had the honor of watching a part of this beautiful transformation. Simply scandalous, it rarely happens in this world you are breaking the “rules” just like Jesus!
Defining the problematic issues which face the present Church is a very popular pastime in these confusing times in which we live. Much of the denigration is centred on things that would disappear in a moment when God is ready to move in His mysterious ways.
Even now, there is a remnant in Christians who engage in scripture, delight in prayer, and pursue righteousness that is by faith In Jesus, peace that passes understanding, and joy unspeakable and full of glory. By all accounts, it is about 10% of the people in the pews of today’s Church.
I no longer worry about other Christians and their distance from the truth as I see it. I am involved in changing individuals one-by-one. That is what I am called to do. If you are a prophet, you must have a wider vision related to numbers. Most of us have no need to worry about that.
The first revival is coming soon. When the dead will rise and meet our Lord in the sky and the elect who stand firm will do the same. This is the true revival described in Hosea 6:2.
I know I just discovered your writing and ministry recently,’but I really appreciate your voice! It feels like truth in a lot of chaff out there. Most important it feels marked by humility. Thank you for all you are sharing.
And I 100% agree about the likelihood that much of the “revivalist” segment of the Protestant church may miss it. God tends to pour out His Spirit on humility and not where there is idol worship and unfortunately those criteria are hard for today’s church to fulfill.
We only need turn left to the former treatise of the writer of Acts to find plenty of good examples.
And your article brought this one to mind

If we would do what they did in Acts we would see what they saw in Acts.
“We will give ourselves to the Word of God and prayer.” It started in Acts 2.
Man. Every part of that feels familiar. Anger for the right reason is still just human anger.

Keep teaching!!
I came to realize that revival was really a quest for power. Then the house of cards fell down.
