We Are Not the Point
Colossians 1:16
“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible... all things have been created through Him and for Him.”
You were created with purpose, but you were not created for self-fulfillment. You were created for Him. Until that becomes clear, your faith will be centered on convenience, not surrender. God is not a tool for building your ideal life. He is the source, the center, and the goal.
This verse calls us back to clarity. Everything, including your life, breath, body, influence, and time, exists through Him and for Him. That changes how you pray. That changes how you plan. That changes how you walk into a worship service or a work meeting. He is the point.
The deepest peace comes not from getting more of what you want, but from giving yourself fully to the One who made you. This is where your life starts to make sense. This is where the weight lifts, because you stop trying to be in control of what you were never made to carry.
Reflection:
Are there areas where you’ve made yourself the center of the story? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where your expectations or plans have drifted from His purpose. Today, take one intentional step to serve or obey in a way that re-centers your life on Jesus.
Prayer:
Father, I was not made to be the center. I was made for You. Forgive me for building around my preferences and calling it faith. Let my life point to Your greatness. Lead me in real surrender today, and teach me to live for what matters most. Amen.
Amen. Holy spirit helps us discern our own self-deception.
