Confirmed by the Spirit
2 Corinthians 13:1
"Every matter is to be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses."
God is not the author of confusion. He often confirms His word in multiple ways so that His people can walk forward with confidence. In Acts 15, the apostles and elders heard testimonies, examined Scripture, prayed together, and came to a united decision that aligned with the Holy Spirit’s leading. This brought clarity, unity, and freedom to the church.
In the same way, the Lord still uses confirmation to steady His people. Sometimes He speaks through His Word, then reinforces it through a trusted friend. Other times He gives the same impression to multiple believers who are praying about the same situation. These confirmations are not meant to replace faith but to strengthen it, helping us know we are moving in step with Him.
When you receive confirmation, it builds courage to act. It also humbles us, reminding us that God works through His whole body. He does not leave His people to carry the weight of discernment alone. He speaks, and His Spirit bears witness in ways that make His will known.
Reflection:
Think of a time when God confirmed His word to you through others. How did it strengthen your faith? Share that story with someone this week to encourage them to seek and trust the Spirit’s confirmation.
Prayer:
"Lord, thank You for the way You confirm Your word through Your Spirit and through Your people. Help me to recognize Your voice, receive Your confirmation with gratitude, and move forward with courage and peace. Amen."
